Reading this account of your tea kettle was as comforting to me as drinking a nice mug of tea. One of the treasures I have from my mother and your grandmother “Ruth” is a proper teapot she had to buy for her visiting Mother-in-law. Granny Ellis was British and had proper tea at the proper time. And - it actually is a piece of art and it came from Hall ceramics!

I love that you found something beautiful and accessible ! And I love your writing Allison. And I love you more.

What a comforting piece. As a former student I take exception to your assessment of your nurturing qualities. You’ve helped many writers become better versions of themselves thru their words.

And I’ve enjoyed the tea you made from that very kettle! I could picture the whole scene. Thanks for the remembrance 💙

I love this so much! When I bought my first support, a cane, I searched for one that had a pattern on it, so that it would feel cute. Now, I'm considering a scooter, and I just want one that doesn't look ugly, ya know? That looks stylish instead. Sleek, even. Cool. Your words help me go, yep, search on. Find the beautiful. Just like your family did for you! Thank you for sharing.

Oh, this is wonderful. I have thought the same as a neurodivergent with chronic illness: who am I with supports in place? A teacher, a wilderness wanderer. Someone more available to others and the wide world. I especially appreciate your what-if about accommodations being made beautifully. It would be a way of saying you matter, you matter.
