Hi, readers of the intangibles! I’m Allison Kirkland, and this publication was created to celebrate and explore the world of creative nonfiction and the writing life. I’m so glad you’re here.
Hi writers and readers,
It’s almost a new year, which means new opportunities to create. I hope you’ll join us for the January Writing Circle.
This is not a workshop group, but an opportunity to spend the month of January in community with other writers, gathering inspiration, generating new material and reflecting.
I love working with creative writing prompts because they can provide an opportunity to get out of our normal patterns of thinking. It’s a way to flex our creativity muscle, to do a little writing sprint, and provide space to try new things. Plus you’ll be writing alongside other writers and learning from them too.
As always, there will be fresh new prompts!
Here’s the format:
We’ll begin with a guided meditation led by me, and then we’ll work with two writing prompts for 10 or 15 minutes each, with an optional opportunity to share.
This offering is open to adult writers of any experience level, even if you don’t call yourself a writer.
Here’s how it works.
I’m facilitating four (4) one-hour sessions on Zoom during the month of January:
Tuesday January 6th, 5:30- 6:30pm ET
Tuesday January 13th, 5:30- 6:30pm ET
Tuesday January 20th, 5:30- 6:30pm ET
Tuesday January 27th, 5:30- 6:30pm ET
I understand schedules can be hectic but I recommend coming to as many of the sessions as possible to build momentum and get to know your fellow writers better.
Suggested donation is sliding scale $5-$15 per session. (Donations can be made via Venmo or PayPal, which I will provide the day of the session.)
